The 2016 Kentucky Golf Association tournament schedule has been finalized and membership registration is now available! Senior golfers in the Commonwealth especially have much to be excited about with 13 events to play this season. This is highlighted by the Senior Amateur at Audubon Country Club and the Senior Match Play Championship at Boone’s Trace National.
The fun doesn’t stop at those two events! KGA Amateur Series events (formerly Senior Specials) are stand-alone 18-hole stroke play events. Seniors earn points at each event based on their finish (gross/net). The top players (gross/net) in each senior flight earn invitations to the series championship, which will be hosted by Bardstown Country Club.

The KGA Amateur Series #1 at Nevel Meade is being used as a test event for a new scoring program. The three different senior age divisions will have their own “gross” scoring competitions but seniors that select the “net” competition will compete as one group. You must choose either the gross or net selection for this event. This will not change which teeing ground you play from but handicaps may reflect the difference in tees using the USGA Handicap Rule 3-5. Prizes will be awarded in each gross division and in the overall net division. If the test is successful, all senior events will use these division choices.
