The Kentucky Golf Foundation is the philanthropic affiliate of Kentucky’s Family of Golf Organizations. Founded in 2002, the foundation was the vision of the Kentucky Golf Association and Kentucky PGA. Our purpose is to positively impact lives of Kentuckians, specifically youth and military families through golf and its traditional values.
The foundation impacts the Kentucky golf community in many ways through the following programs and special initiatives:
- PGA Reach
- Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame
- Kentucky Golf Museum
- Youth Learn Play Compete (LpC)
Hall of Fame
The Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame was established in 1984 as a joint effort by the Kentucky Golf Association and the Kentucky PGA to honor individuals in Kentucky with significant achievements and accomplishments in various areas of golf.
The Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame’s membership includes individuals with remarkable records as players, golf professionals, golf course superintendents, educators, and golf administrators. The most recent inductees include Jim Ferriell, Jr., PGA and Martha Leach.
Among the most visible achievements is Golf House Kentucky. The building opened in November 2006 and is home to the Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame and Museum. The Museum features themed displays, memorabilia, photographs, library, trophy room and meeting space.
Golf House Kentucky is located in a picturesque country setting near Louisville in the Persimmon Ridge Development. Golf House Kentucky is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are accepted. For questions, please call (502) 243-8295.
The Kentucky Golf Foundation is funded solely through private and corporate donations, memorials, special events and contributions from Kentucky’s Family of Golf Organizations.
