Louisville, KY (May 22, 2017) – The Kentucky Golf Association visited Audubon Country Club for the second event of the KGA Am Series. While it was perfect weather for scoring, the par 72 course showed its teeth to the field of 144 players.
Picking up where he left off in the first series event, Jim Brown of Paducah won the Senior Division with an even-par 72 for a one-shot victory over Lance Lucas of Union. In the net scoring Scott Reburn of Fisherville and Gran Gran Mefford of Perry Park tied for first 4-under 68’s.
In the Legends Division, Don Wood of Louisville continued his masterful play by shooting a 1-over par 73. Wood’s net 69 was also good enough to claim the net scoring title for the event. Joe Cantrell of Louisville was runner-up to Wood in both the gross and net scoring.
Elmo Greer of London turned in one of the day’s best performances with a 2-over par 74 to win the Masters Division. Greer’s impressive round netted into a 9-under par 63 for victory also in the net scoring. Runner-up to Greer in the gross scoring was Mike Price of Morehead and in the net Danny Ashlock of Fern Creek.
Tom Wise of Georgetown edged out Don Kohler of Prospect with 75 to win the Player Division. In the net scoring Joe Sears of Shepherdsville and Chuck Craig of Salvisa both shot net 4-under par 68 to tie for medalist honors.
Matt Liston of Louisville recorded the best score of the day with a 4-under par 68 to win the Open Division by five shots over Jonathan Ice of Louisville.

About the KGA Am Series
The KGA Am Series is a series of five events and features five divisions of play. The Divisions are Open, Players, Seniors (55-64), Masters (65-71), and Legends (72 and over). Players accumulate points based off their performance throughout the Am Series events to qualify for the season-ending Series Championship to be held at Standard Country Club in September.
