2024 KPGA Season Comes to an End at Perry Park
PERRY PARK, KY – Earlier this week, Perry Park Golf Resort played host to the final event of the KPGA season as thirty-three teams competed in the 2024 Pro-Pro Championship presented by Taylormade. The unique venue in northern Kentucky consists of three nine-hole tracks, all of which were utilized during this week’s event to create a unique playing experience.
After a brief fog delay on Monday morning, the first round of play kicked off on the Buckskin loop. Tom Walters and Justin Warman managed the lowest team score through nine holes at five-under-par. They were followed closely by multiple teams at four-under, including Jessie Massie and Myles Mahan. As play shifted to the second nine holes, which took place on the Antlers course, Massie and Mahan managed to take the lead. They duo shot six-under-par on the last nine holes, including an eagle on the final hole by Massie, for a final score of 63(-10). Walters and Warman finished one shot back at 64(-9) followed by Aaron Eldridge and CJ Jones at 65(-8).
As the second day of play kicked off on the Antlers loop, Warman and Walters bolted back to the top of the leaderboard. An opening birdie, followed by three consecutive birdies on holes seven through nine, took the pair to thirteen-under-par for the tournament. Massie and Mahan sat in second place at twelve-under-par with Eldridge and Jones a shot behind at eleven-under.
The final nine holes of the competition were played on the Whitetail loop where Walters and Warman continued their strong play. The duo recorded six birdies, including five straight on holes thirteen through seventeen. Despite their best efforts, no other team could hold up to the leaders’ pace. Walters and Warman claimed the 2024 Pro-Pro Series Championship with a final score of 127(-18). The duo held a cushion of three strokes over Massie and Mahan 130(-15). Eldridge and Jones rounded out the top three teams at 131(-14).
Along with team honors, Tom Walters continued his incredible run of success this season by claiming low individual honors after winning a two-hole playoff with Jessie Massie at 134(-11). Congratulations to Tom Walters and Justin Warman on an incredible tournament victory as well as all of the teams that competed in the final KPGA event of the year.
