KPGA Announces 2024 ROLEX Players of the Year

Louisville, KY - After another successful season of competition in 2024, the Kentucky PGA Section is pleased to announce the 2024 KPGA Players of the Year. These members have displayed incredible talent on the course throughout the 2024 season and have amassed the most points in their respective Player of the Year divisions.

2024 ROLEX Larry Gilbert Player of the Year & Assistant/Associate Player of the Year

Daniel Iceman, PGA (Weissinger Hills Golf Club)

Daniel Iceman has continued his dominanace of the KPGA to achieve back-to-back Larry Gilbert Player of the Year Honors. This also marks Iceman's third consecutive year of Assistant/Associate Player of the Year honors as well. This year, Iceman competed in twelve events on the KPGA schedule and won seven times. These wins included a sweep of the 2024 Kentucky PGA Assistants/Associates Championship and the 2024 Kentucky PGA Professional Championship. Iceman's other victories included the 2024 Pro-Am Championship, 2024 Assistants/Associates Match Play, and the 2024 Pro-Scratch, Pro-Senior(2), and Pro-Official Championships. Iceman also played his way to a top-twelve finish   at the Kentucky Open. 

 

2024 ROLEX Senior Player of the Year

Tom Walters, PGA (Summit Hills Country Club)

In his first season competing in the Senior Division, Tom Walters put together an impressive resume of victories to claim the top honors. He recorded victories at the 2024 KPGA Senior Professional Championship and Pro-Pro Championship to go along with low senior professional honors at the 2024 Pro-Lady and Pro-Official Championships. He also finished T25 at the 2024 Kentucky Open along with a T5 finish at the 2024 Kentucky Senior Open. Walters also put on an impressive performance at the 2024 PGA Senior Professional National Championship in Sunriver, Oregon, finishing eighth overall. 

 

2024 ROLEX Super-Senior Player of the Year

Steve Cox, PGA (Larue Country Club)

Steve Cox played in eleven events in 2024, claiming low Super-Senior honors four times. His first success came at the 2024 Pro-Scratch Championship followed by solid performances at the 2024 Pro-Lady, Pro-Senior(2), and Bill Long Mega Pro-Am Championships. At seventy-two years old, Cox competed as the oldest player in the field at the 2024 Kentucky Open and finished T22 at the 2024 Kentucky Senior Open. 

 

2024 ROLEX Women's Player of the Year

Sara Stephens, PGA (The Stephens Golf Center)

Sara Stephens competed in two events on the KPGA calendar this year. First, Stevens found victory at the Women's Championship with a score of 76 (+4). At the 2024 Bill Long Mega Pro-Am Championship, Stevens claimed low professional honors with an impressive 68(-4).
