26th Kentucky Women’s Open from Bellefonte Country Club to be broadcast live on MyTown TV.
LOUISVILLE, KY (June 3, 2022) – For the first time ever, one of Kentucky golf’s premier championships will be broadcast live this summer. The 26th Kentucky Women’s Open will be available to viewing audiences nationwide through MyTown TV when the tournament takes place at Bellefonte Country Club in Ashland on July 11-12.
Both the first and second rounds of the 36-hole championship will be available through My Town TV’s suite of products. Viewers will be able to access the streams through their televisions by downloading the MyTown TV app on either Apple TV or Roku. The broadcast will also be accessible through mobile devices, with the MyTown TV app accessible on both the Apple app store and Google Play store.
This momentous agreement will provide significant exposure for one of the most prestigious championship in women’s golf in Kentucky. As one of the few Women’s State Opens that is open to players from any state, families and friends of non-Kentucky competitors will be able to watch their favorite players from afar. Subsequently, Kentucky golf and its female players will be on display like never before, with the state’s top players having the opportunity to extend their reach well beyond the Commonwealth.
“We are very excited to have MyTown TV cover our Women's Open,” Sally Morgan, PGA Interim Executive Director at Golf House Kentucky said. “This will help elevate not only the phenomenal female players that come from across the country to compete, but also highlight the deeply rooted history in Bellefonte Country Club. We appreciate the support from MyTown TV to cover this event and anticipate this setting a great foundation for future promotion of golf at a high-level in Kentucky.”
“It's a real honor for us to be able to share in this event with Kentucky women’s golf both in the state and nationwide,” Jeromy Sutherland, Executive Producer and Co-Founder of MyTown TV stated. “We are excited to bring our LIVE streaming coverage capabilities to the course and expand the coverage that these amazing athletes deserve. Showcasing our state, our region and the athletes here and around the nation for a worldwide audience is what we live for at My Town TV.”
Coverage windows for the championship are currently to be determined but will be distributed in advance of the first round once confirmed. There are also sponsor opportunities available for the broadcast which can be arranged through Brian Harris of MyTown TV through email.
Caroline Smith, an Illinois native and redshirt freshman for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, won the 2021 championship at Danville Country Club by two strokes over former University of Kentucky golfer Sarah Shipley.
Bellefonte Country Club will be hosting the Kentucky Women’s Open for the first time in its storied history. By doing so, it will become the first golf course in Kentucky to have hosted every major individual competition sanctioned by the Kentucky PGA Section and Kentucky Golf Association.
Registration for the tournament is open to female professionals and amateurs through Monday, July 4 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Players can register for the tournament by clicking here.
