Each Fall, in early October, high school, junior golf in the Commonwealth culminates with a week long, season-ending Championship to crown the state’s top individuals and teams. The Kentucky High School Athletic Association has reached a long term agreement with title sponsor Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac and Championship site club Bowling Green Country Club to promote and host the Championship in Bowling Green, Kentucky at Bowling Green Country Club.
All season long students and schools from throughout the state compete in matches and invitational tournaments leading up to the Regional competitions, the week before State, in late September. The Commonwealth is divided into 11 Girls Regions and 12 Boys Regions, each of which stage a tournament supervised by Golf House Kentucky Rules Officials, to decide representatives in the State Championship.
Both the Boys and Girls KHSAA State Golf Championships consist of a practice round followed by 36-holes of stroke play over two days to decide the winners. Golf House Kentucky Staff and Rules Officials team with the KHSAA to conduct this event annually.
