Kentucky PGA to Pay Off Remaining Debt of Golf House Kentucky Building
LOUISVILLE, KY (March 18, 2021) – The Kentucky PGA Section board members have elected to make a donation of $300,000 to the Kentucky Golf Foundation which will pay off the remaining debt of the physical building, Golf House Kentucky, the hub of the KPGA, KGF and Kentucky Golf Association.
Opened in 2005 in the neighborhood of Persimmon Ridge Golf Club just outside of Louisville, Golf House Kentucky has been the operating headquarters for each member of the Family of Organizations ever since. The building, which also houses the Kentucky Golf Museum and Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame, is owned by the Kentucky Golf Foundation which has been working towards paying off the building since its opening. The Section’s generous donation will render the building debt-free going forward. This will afford the KGF the opportunity to fund current program growth and enhancements, as well as new initiatives, which will continue to enhance lives through the game of golf across the Commonwealth.
“Our Section’s mission is to grow the game and serve the PGA Member,” Craig Heibert, PGA President of the Kentucky Section stated. “The Foundation is a great tool and mechanism that helps our Membership achieve that objective of growing the game. The continued partnership with the KGA has allowed us to reach these goals, and with the game of golf in Kentucky growing and as strong as ever, now is the perfect time to make this investment. PGA Members in Kentucky both now and for the long-term will be greatly benefited by this move.”
“The amateur members were completely surprised when Mr. Heibert announced that the Section had made the decision to pay off the balance of the mortgage for Golf House Kentucky,” Dave Nicholas, Kentucky Golf Foundation Chairman said. “It was rewarding to know that this action was being taken because of the strength of the partnership and the trust that the two organizations have in each other. It represents a true commitment to the ongoing viability of GHK as an organization.”
“The contribution made by the Kentucky PGA will greatly accelerate initiatives and programs aimed at growing the game of golf in Kentucky, as identified through the Kentucky Golf Foundation's long-term strategic plan,” Jeff Adkerson, PGA CEO | Executive Director at Golf House Kentucky explained. “Golf is truly a game for life and teaches many valuable life lessons. To be able to enhance lives through the game of golf is a win for everyone, and the Foundation is a vehicle to drive those playing opportunities. What a great investment by the Kentucky PGA!”
Members of the Kentucky PGA Section can expect to hear additional detail about this announcement during the Dever | E-Z-GO Spring Member Conference on Monday, March 22.
