Moore and Switzer Win First Pro-Pro of 2023
Moore and Switzer capture first Pro-Pro of 2023.
SIMPSONVILLE, KY (April 10, 2023) – Mitchell Moore, PGA and Tadd Switzer are the champions of the Kentucky PGA’s first Pro-Pro of the season. At University of Louisville Golf Club, the western Kentuckians took first place in the Pro-Pro Shamble presented by Cunningham | Yamaha and supported by Bushnell & Hole-In-One USA.
The champions recorded a bogey-free round of 60 (-12) which featured seven consecutive birdies from holes 8-14. That stretch highlighted their day and propelled them to a one-stroke margin of victory over Vince Prather, PGA and Jeremy Martin.
NOTES & STATS
- Matt Bloom authored the shot of the day with a hole-in-one on the par-three 8th. Bloom and his partner Gabe Wheeler each received a bottle of Elijah Craig courtesy of Cunningham | Yamaha while Bloom will also get $250 thanks to Hole-in-One USA.
- The par-five 17th was the easiest hole on Monday with a stroke-to-par average of -0.71. 26 teams recorded birdie or eagle on the 17th.
- Hole 7 was the hardest of the competition with the par-four playing +0.17. Only one birdie was made here, the fewest of any hole, which came from Keith Reese, PGA and Erin Horn, PGA.
- The course average was 69.01 (-2.99) with the front nine playing 0.57 strokes easier than the back nine.

The KPGA will return to competition next Monday, April 17 at Country Club of Paducah with the Pro-Scratch presented by Branded Bills. That event and HOPE for Heroes presented by CSS Mechanical each close for registration tonight at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
About the Kentucky PGA:
The Kentucky PGA Section (KPGA) is one of 41 Sections across the country representing the PGA of America and its Members. It is also one of three organizations encompassed within Golf House Kentucky, which also includes the Kentucky Golf Association (KGA) and Kentucky Golf Foundation (KGF). The KPGA contains more than 275 Members and more than 30 Associates working in various roles across Kentucky; all of whom share the goal of bettering the game and its players.
