Golf House Kentucky is excited to announce that registration for 2019 KGA tournaments is now open. The 2019 schedule features unique event formats including match play and four-ball, and events will take place all over Kentucky at some of the state’s top golf courses.
The KGA’s flagship event, the 105th Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Kentucky Amateur, will take place June 18-20 at Country Club of Paducah. Fadhli Soetarso of Lexington will look to defend his title from after defeating Justin Tereshko in a playoff last year. Country Club of Paducah was founded in 1902 and is one of the most challenging golf courses in Western Kentucky. With tree-lined fairways and strong elevation changes, the state’s best amateur golfers will face a quality challenge in one of Kentucky’s most significant championships.
On July 1-3, one of the most exciting tournaments of the season will take place at Heritage Hill Golf Club when the Shepherdsville venue hosts the KGA Match Play Championship. This beautiful Doug Beach design features a number of risk-reward holes that make it the perfect venue to host a match play championship. Eric King will be seeking his second consecutive victory in the knockout-style event.
The best senior amateurs in the state will make their way east on August 19-20 for the Kentucky Senior Amateur Championship at Bellefonte Country Club. One of the most demanding golf courses in Eastern Kentucky, players will have to negotiate the narrow fairways and undulating greens with great precision as trouble awaits on every hole. With four different divisions, participants are guaranteed an enjoyable competitive experience.
In the fall, University Club of Kentucky in Lexington will play host to one of the most special events on the calendar, the Kentucky Mid-Amateur. The competition will take place on September 23-24 where Andy Roberts will be defending the championship in the Main Division. Like the Kentucky Senior Amateur, this event also features different age divisions which will increase each player’s chances to partake in a competitive atmosphere during the final round.
