Results of the Pro-Lady Championship supported by Imperial, Mobile Pro Shop, and Ecco
LEXINGTON, KY – The weather could not have been more perfect for the return of the KPGA Pro-Lady supported by Imperial, Mobile Pro Shop, and Ecco. Professionals from all over the state brought three female amateurs with them to form teams of four. The format of the team competition was best two balls (net) from each hole alongside the traditional low professional competition. Eighteen groups teed off at 8 a.m., with another fifteen groups teeing off in the afternoon.
Daniel Iceman’s team consisted of his wife, Candice Iceman, his mother, Lisa Iceman, and friend, Katie Schwitters, who skirted by with one shot to capture the title. They shot a team score of 122 (-22). The Iceman power couple had a terrific round, with Daniel shooting 73 and Candice shooting 79. The two totaled 12 birdies or better between them to help give their team an extra push toward the lead. Lisa Iceman and Katie Schwitters also had great rounds, helping to add to their team's overall winning score.
CJ Jones of Triple Crown Country Club had a fabulous round, totaling six birdies, four of them consecutively, that led to him receiving the day's low pro title. He ended the day with an overall score of 67 (-5).
The Kentucky PGA is so thankful to one of its supporting sponsors of this event, Ecco, for their generous donation of a prize to the team with the player that was closest to the hole on Hole #2 at Greenbrier. The prize went to the team of Kelly Williams, C.A. Carter, Mary Keene Marrs, and Barbara Edelman.
