Bushnell Kick-Off Goes to Familiar Faces
The season has just begun and there appears to already be a front runner for another Cunningham-Yamaha Pro-Pro Series crown. Last year's winning captain, Aaron McDowell, must have been studying what horses he needs to repeat as the series champion as he and partner Steven Conley edged out a strong field for the Bushnell Pro-Pro Series Kick-off today at Oxmoor Country Club. Their 10 under par Four-Ball total just snuck by Jake Spott and Michael Vandermeer's 63. A log jam of teams appeared at 8 under par 64 and every team that posted a 66 or better was in the money.
Looking to record a personal highlight reel for himself, Steve Shafer aced the par 3, 6th hole and collected a smooth treat from Cunningham's Mark Jackie for he and his partner, Gary Bebelaar. He may have been just a little early with his accomplishment as the eighth hole was also a prize winning hiole; only this time it was a Hole-in-One contest and wouold have paid $1,000. But I'm sure he is happy to pay the bar bill anyway.
Thanks to all the supporters we had on hand including our title sponsor Bushnell. Others included Cunningham Golf Cars, Club Glove, Hole-in One U.S.A., 2 Under, and Sabona.
