Dan Utley and Team Claim the First Pro-Senior of 2024

LOUISVILLE, KY (May 28, 2024) —The Kentucky PGA returned on Tuesday with the Pro-Senior Championship Supported by Bushnell and Oars & Alps at Big Spring Country Club. Dan Utley of Louisville along with his Senior Amateur team of Hunter Wilson, Tim Delong, and Bill Faulkner took home the title with a 13 under par total in the 2 Best Ball format.
The day began at 8:00 a.m. with split tees in both morning and afternoon waves and 50 teams of four (1 Professional, 3 Senior Amateurs) competing in a 2 Best Ball (gross/net) format. Utley and crew finished at 13 under par while a trio of teams tied for 2nd position one shot back at 12 under par. This trio includes teams led by professionals Aiden Robison of South Park CC, Corey Stith of Elizabethtown CC, and Greg Basham of Iroquois GC.
Along with the team title, Dan Utley finished as the Low Professional at four under par, edging out Greg Basham (-3) by one stroke and Aaron Eldridge of Traditions GC (-2) by two.
NOTES & STATS:
- The par-5 1st hole played the easiest, averaging 4.94 strokes with a total of 1 eagle, 18 birdies, and 22 pars for the Pro Division.
- The back nine finished with the hardest hole of the day, with the par-4 11th hole averaging .76 strokes over par.
- The event average for the Professional Division was 77.71, with the back nine's average 39.22, while the front nine's average was slightly lower at 38.49.

About the Kentucky PGA:
The Kentucky PGA Section (KPGA) is one of 41 Sections across the country that represent the PGA of America and its Members. It is also one of three organizations encompassed within Golf House Kentucky, which also includes the Kentucky Golf Association (KGA) and Kentucky Golf Foundation (KGF). The KPGA contains more than 300 Members and Associates who work in various roles across Kentucky, all of whom share the goal of bettering the game and its players.
