KGA Announces Addition of 2018 Women's Events
The Kentucky Golf Association is proud to announce two new events for female golfers in the state of Kentucky. New for 2018, the KGA will conduct its first-ever Women's Amateur Series event on Monday, July 16th at Griffin Gate Resort, and have also added Women's divisions to its popular Four-Ball Championship on June 4th-5th at Heritage Hill Golf Club.
"In addition to the Kentucky Women's Open Championship (conducted by the Kentucky PGA), we are excited to add two new tournaments for female amateur golfers," said Brent Paladino, Executive Director of Golf House Kentucky. "We are committed to offering more opportunities for females throughout the state and both of these events are a great step in that direction."
Women's Amateur Series Event at Griffin Gate Resort on July 16
For the first time in the history of the Kentucky Golf Association, we will be conducting a Women's-only Amateur Series event on Monday, July 16th at Griffin Gate Marriott in Lexington, Kentucky. The event will be open to all female amateur competitors who maintain an active handicap index, and will offer age divisions and gross & net prizes.
Kentucky Four-Ball Championship
The Kentucky Four-Ball Championship is a 36-hole Four-Ball (Better ball of partners) stroke play competition being played June 4th - 5th at Heritage Hill Golf Club in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. The tournament is open to all female amateur competitors regardless of age and all division except the Open division have Gross and Net prizes. Below is the breakdown of divisions:Open (gross only)
Players | Mid-Seniors 40-49 (gross & net scoring)
Senior 50 – 59 (gross & net scoring)
Masters 60 & over (gross & net scoring)
Kentucky Women's Open
Conducted by the Kentucky PGA, the 2018 Kentucky Women's Open will be played July 24th - 25th at University of Louisville Golf Club and is open to all Kentucky residents who have an active USGA handicap at a KGA member club. All female amateur golfer regardless of age are encouraged to participate and there is no handicap index requirement.
Amateur participants ages 25 years of age or older are eligible to compete in the Mid-Amateur division of the championship. All contestants competing in the Mid-Amateur Division will play from the championship tees and will be eligible for the overall championship title. The low finisher in the Mid-Amateur Division will receive a recognition prize, but cannot win both the overall championship and the Mid-Amateur Division.
