Utley & Walters Win Their Latest Pro-Pro; This Time at Woodhaven
LOUISVILLE, KY (October 12, 2020) – For the second time in four weeks, Dan Utley and Tom Walters have won a KPGA Pro-Pro contested under a four-ball format. Following up their victory on September 21st at University Club of Kentucky, the combo was back to their winning habits in today’s contest at Woodhaven Country Club.
It was a dominant march to victory today compared to a one-stroke clipping in Lexington. The duo shot 59 (-13) which carried them to a five-stroke victory over Steven Conley and Aaron McDowell. By himself, Utley made nine birdies throughout the round. Walters made birdie on four holes on the half of Woodhaven Utley did not manage to make birdie on. The thirteen combined birdies and lack of bogeys counted to the team score made it an easy day’s work for the Owl Creek and Summit Hills Head Professionals.
As was the case when they won at Big Blue, Walters also locked up low pro honors in today’s individual competition. His 71 (-1) on the day skirted Blake Watts and Steven Conley by one stroke while Nick Johnston and Myles Mahan were two strokes back in a tie for fourth place. It’s the third time this season Walters has taken low pro honors by himself with a share of the low pro distinction also taking place in another competition.
