Massie & Miller Victorious at the 2024 Pro-Scratch Championship

PADUCAH, KY (April 15, 2024) —The Kentucky PGA headed west to the Country Club of Paducah yesterday for the Pro-Scratch Championship Presented by Branded Bills. This event sees Members and Associates from across Kentucky pair up with a scratch golfer in a Best Ball (Gross) format. Congratulations to the team of Jesse Massie, PGA, and Andrew Miller for their one-shot win with a score of 7-under 65!

A total of 92 players competed in this event, with the day beginning with a 10:00 shotgun start. The tournament saw a low-pro stroke play competition, as well, with Grover Justice, PGA, claiming the win by one shot over Massie with a 2-under 70 to take home $500. Ryne Burnett, PGA, Chad Douglas, PGA, Tim Reeves, PGA and Mitchell Moore, PGA, each took home $195 in skins money with birdies across holes on the course.

NOTES & STATS

  • The par-5 11th hole played the easiest, averaging just 0.02 strokes over par with the help of 18 birdies.
  • The par-4 13th hole was the most difficult of the day. The average score was 4.9, with no eagles and just two birdies.
  • Two eagles were made on the day by Grover Justice and Aaron Eldridge
  • The average score was 79.71, with 11 rounds under par, two eagles, and 152 birdies

The Section will take a break from tournaments for the next few weeks. Next Monday, April 22, the Kentucky Golf Foundation will host its annual HOPE for Heroes event at Polo Fields Golf & Country Club. This event is a six-person scramble with teams comprised of Professionals, Veterans, and Amateurs. Click HERE to view more about this event.
