Modifications to KGA Team Championships in June

The following changes to the Kentucky Golf Association's Senior Team Championship and Team Championship have been finalized. Tournament registration will reopen on Wednesday, May 6 at 9:00 a.m. EDT.

KGA Senior Team Championship
Bardstown Country Club @ Maywood, Bardstown
Monday & Tuesday, June 1-2

This championship will be modified in the following ways:

  • Entry Fee: Reduced from $135 to $125
  • Players Lunch: Eliminated (contestants may purchase food and beverage items)
  • Field Size: Reduced to a maximum of 52 players (26 teams)
  • Starting Times: All tee times will be scheduled fifteen minutes apart and will include two teams each (4 players)
  • Tee Times will be scheduled starting at 8:00 a.m. Teams will be assigned in the following order for the 1st round – Seniors, Masters, Legends
  • Final round tee times will be scheduled in this order of play – Legends, Masters, Seniors
  • Carts: Only one player will occupy a single golf cart unless two bags are located on one cart. 
  • If there are two bags on one cart, only one team member shall operate the golf cart during the entire round and his partner must walk.
  • Player of the Year points have been eliminated from this competition.

Kentucky Team Championship
Summit Hills Country Club, Crestview Hills
Monday, June 22

This team championship has been cancelled for 2020. The KGA is replacing this championship with an additional KGA Amateur Series event. The following modifications will be in effect:

  • Entry Fee: $85 (includes cart, range fee, prizes)
  • Field Size: 51 players (no limit within divisions) First come/First serve 
  • A waiting list will be maintained
  • Starting Times: All tee times will be scheduled fifteen minutes apart and each group will be limited to three players.
  • Tee Times will be scheduled starting at 8:00 a.m. Divisions will play in the following order – Open, Seniors, Masters, Legends
  • Carts: Only one player will occupy a single golf cart unless two bags are located on one cart. 
  • If there are two bags on one cart, only player shall operate the golf cart during the entire round and the other player must walk.
  • Player of the Year points have been eliminated from this competition.
