Rules of Golf Workshop at Golf House Kentucky

On February 25-26, Golf House Kentucky and its respective organizations will be hosting a USGA Rules Workshop at the company's headquarters. Both days of the workshop will begin at 8:00 a.m. EST and conclude at 5:00 p.m. EST. The workshop will cover the Rules of Golf as defined by the USGA and R&A while also detailing the changes that went into effect on January 1. See below for some frequently asked questions about the workshop. If you have any further questions, reach out to Ray Moehlman, PGA Director, Professional Competitions via email.

I plan on playing KGA, KPGA and/or Kentucky PGA Junior Tour events in 2023. Do I have to attend?

You are not required to attend by any means, but we can guarantee you would learn multiple things that would be useful for you to know when you're competing at a tournament.

I want to become a GHK rules official. Do I have to attend?

It is strongly encouraged that prospective rules officials and current rules officials attend this workshop.

Is there an exam offered and do I have to take it?

On Monday, February 27 the workshop leaders will be providing the USGA's 80-question exam after the previous days' discussions. It is not required that attendees take the exam, but because of the recent rules changes, all GHK rules officials will need to have scored at least 70% on that exam either this year or next winter before the 2024 GHK tournament season.

Who is teaching the workshop?

Expert-level rules officials with Golf House Kentucky will lead the discussion. John Allison, Lisa Goins and Dean Terry will guide the conversations.

When is registration due?

Sign-ups will close on February 15.
