The Rosters of the 2022 Coomer Cup supported by 2UNDR

On Wednesday, September 7, a storied event within Golf House Kentucky takes place under a new name. The Coomer Cup supported by 2UNDR ushers in a new era of the event that has been known as the Challenge Cup, a Ryder Cup-style event that features twelve of the top amateur golfers in Kentucky taking on twelve of the top Kentucky PGA Professionals. 

Team KGA is playing for a fourth consecutive victory in the event and will be captained by Association President Jim Thompson for the second straight year. These gentlemen are tasked with the duty of winning the trophy once more.

The opposing Kentucky PGA Professionals will led by Danny Baron, PGA of Hurstbourne Country Club for the first time. Baron was elected President of the Section last winter and is prepared to captain Team KPGA this year and in 2023. He will lead these gentlemen into Valhalla hoping to snap the winning streak of their amateur counterparts.

The competition will contain three sessions of nine-hole matches. The morning will begin with players competing in pairs of two in four-ball matches on the front nine. The back nine will feature the same matchups with teams competing in foursomes. Following a lunch break, the afternoon will feature a dozen singles matches. 

Team KGA needs 12 points to retain the Cup while Team KPGA requires 12.5 points to win it back. Golf House Kentucky will have full coverage of the tournament on its Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages.
