Tommy Betz Leads Team to Victory in Bill Long Mega Pro-Am
LOUISVILLE, KY – The Bill Long Mega Pro-Am presented by Cunningham Golf & Utility Vehicles and Supported by Ahead took place on June 17th. Wildwood Country Club and the Kentucky PGA staged a competition that featured 220 players competing in teams of four with one professional and three amateurs.
The team of Tommy Betz/Pat Mossholder/Wes Switzer/Kevin Horseman have been declared the champions, as the foursome recorded a team score of 123 (-21) to capture the title in the two-best net score format. The group from Long Run Golf Course was propelled by 3 eagles which helped lead them to a three-shot victory.
Sara Stephens and Dan Utley shared Low Professional honors, each carding rounds of four under par (68) in the Low Professional competition.
NOTES & STATS
- Using gross scores, the par-four 5th was the hardest hole of the event with an average score of 4.83.
- The par-five 16th was much gentler and the day’s easiest hole. With an average score of 4.93 with five eagles and fifty-seven birdies.

About the Kentucky PGA:
The Kentucky PGA Section (KPGA) is one of forty-one Sections across the country representing the PGA of America and its Members. It is also one of three organizations encompassed within Golf House Kentucky, which also includes the Kentucky Golf Association (KGA) and Kentucky Golf Foundation (KGF). The KPGA contains more than 300 Members and more than 30 Associates working in various roles across Kentucky; all of whom share the goal of bettering the game and its players. The KPGA and its Members assist with the organization of many chief growth-of-the-game initiatives including PGA HOPE and PGA Jr. League among others.
