Wall Fires Up After Ace To Win The Clark's Pump-N-Shop Kentucky Men's State Am

HEBRON, KY  – Following a hole-in-one and a round of 66 to charge to the top of the leaderboard, Lexington's Trey Wall fired a final round 71 to win the 2024 Clark's Pump-N-Shop Kentucky Men's Amateur at Traditions Golf Club. This is his first Kentucky Men's State Amateur Championship and after this win, he now has a lifetime exemption to the Kentucky Men's State Amateur, an exemption into the US Amateur Championship at Hazeltine and the Southern Amateur Championship at Idle Hour Country Club, as well as exemption into the KY Open for the next five years. 

Teeing off at 10 a.m. this morning, Wall came ready to dominate with a par on the first four holes, adding birdies on holes 6 and 9 to make the turn with a 35. He added birdies on holes 14 and 16 to total four birdies on the day and 15 for the tournament. There was a four way tie for the runner up position, with Ben Haggin, Stephen Warren, Fred Meyer, and Brady Smith shooting -4. This accomplishment grants each of these players an exemption into final stage qualifying for the US Amateur Championship in 2025. 

Many others are also going home with hardware and achievements after a successful week. These players include:

TOURNAMENT NOTES AND STATS:
  • 18 eagles were turned in throughout the course of the tournament, three on the front nine and fifteen on the back. 
  • 79 players shot par and below throughout the week, with 54 scores below par and 19 below 70.
