Kentucky’s Family of Golf Organizations is pleased to announce the addition of a new team member to the Golf House Kentucky staff. Beginning December 15, Sidney Overman will begin as Director of Association Services. Overman is no stranger to the Kentucky PGA, Kentucky Golf Association and Kentucky Golf Foundation. She served as an intern on the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour in 2013 and as the Golf House Kentucky USGA P.J. Boatwright Intern in the 2014 season. Her new role will include Kentucky golf handicap subscription services, working with Kentucky Golf Association member clubs and she will also be out in the field, leading the KGA Amateur Series events.
Overman is a University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign graduate, with a degree in Sports Management in 2013. She hails from Gibson City, Illinois. Prior to joining our staff, she worked for the Pacific Northwest Golf Association and Washington State Golf Association in Federal Way, Washington in 2015 as Coordinator of Rules and Competition. Most recently, she worked in Chicago as Scout Coordinator for NCSA Athletic Recruiting.
“Sidney’s unique blend of familiarity with our family of organizations, experience with technology and great personality will allow her to make an impact quickly. I’m thrilled she is joining our team,” said Steve McMillen, Executive Director of Golf House Kentucky. “Being back at Golf House Kentucky has been my goal since I left as an intern. My intern experiences were as educational as they were fun! To borrow from a couple of golf greats…’A good golfer has the determination to win and the patience to wait for the breaks.’ ~Gary Player and my all-time favorite Phil Mickelson, “Expectations are a little different!” I am excited for the “break” to be back and ready for the ‘expectations,’ challenges and rewards that my position will provide,” said Overman.
