Note: You have been sent a confirmation e-mail that includes your GHIN number
On behalf of our more than 22,000 members and 180 member clubs, we would like to welcome you to membership with the Kentucky Golf Association. We are proud to have you as a member of Kentucky’s official state golf association.
There are many benefit to becoming a member of the KGA, but none more valuable than receiving an official USGA Handicap Index through the GHIN (Golf Handicap Information Network). Widely considered the standard of golf handicapping, the USGA handicapping system was developed to allow golfers of varying abilities to play together on equal footing, and having a Handicap Index brands you as a true golfer, not just someone who plays golf. You can track your improvement and compete in tournaments or other more casual outings, many of which ask for a Handicap Index when you register.
In addition to your official USGA handicap, you receive a number of member benefits which are outlined on the following pages. Benefits of KGA membership include the ability to enter and play in a variety of KGA championships and One Day tournaments throughout the season.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you out on the links this season!
How Do I Post a Score?
Posting all scores played during the active season ensures that you have an accurate handicap index. Members of the KGA have the following options to post scores:
1) KYGolf.org- All KGA members can post their scores easily by visiting our official website at kygolf.org. Simply click on the “Post a Score” button under the “Members” tab and enter your GHIN number and Last Name. You will be prompted for the score, date, location and other pertinent information.
2) KGA Mobile App- The KGA Mobile App gives you access to your handicap right on your smartphone! You can post scores, view your score history, and even calculate your course handicap for your upcoming round. To download, visit the App Store and search for “GHIN Mobile”
The KGA is the only authorized golf association licensed by the USGA® to utilize the USGA Handicap System™ through their member clubs in Kentucky. The KGA uses GHIN as its handicap computation service which is the most widely accepted in the world and is offered to clubs and golfers exclusively through State or Regional Golf Associations. Your GHIN handicap gives you access to eGolfer with myGame allowing you to post scores, view your handicap index and score histories, as well as track statistics related to your game. Download the popular KGA Mobile App to post scores, use the interactive course handicap calculator, perform a Handicap index lookup, view your most recent scores or enter tournaments from your smartphone.
